## Card

A beautiful young man wishes that his portrait would age instead of him, and the wish appears to be granted.
The talk is full of polished, cynical epigrams, and the elegance of the rooms makes the rot underneath more unsettling.
For a night of candlelight and dangerous ideas.

## About this book

In London, the painter Basil Hallward finishes a portrait of Dorian Gray, a young man of unusual beauty. Lord Henry Wotton, a witty and idle talker, persuades Dorian that youth and pleasure are all that matter. As the years pass, Dorian's face stays unmarked while the painting, kept locked away, begins to change. The novel asks what becomes of a person who never has to see the cost of what he does.
