## Card

A young scientist builds a living being from dead matter, then turns away in horror from what he has made.
Letters, confessions and the creature's own eloquent account nest inside one another, and each voice argues its side.
For a night of ice and long silences.

## About this book

Victor Frankenstein, a student at Ingolstadt, becomes consumed by the question of how life begins and finally succeeds in making a man. Horrified by the result, he flees, leaving the creature to learn about the world alone. The creature watches a family from hiding, teaches himself to read, and comes to demand an answer from his maker. The book keeps asking what is owed to a being that never asked to exist.
